Frequently asked questions
What does class T2 mean?
It is a reaction-to-fire class of the European standard EN 15619, which classifies coated fabrics for tents from T1 (the most demanding) to T4 on the basis of the EN 14115 test. It does not mean that the fabric is non-combustible.
Is class T2 the same as a Euroclass under EN 13501-1?
No. The Euroclasses (A1, A2, B, C, D, E and F) of EN 13501-1 classify construction products and are obtained with different tests; class T2 comes from EN 15619, which is specific to tent fabrics. There is no direct equivalence between the two scales. If a tender or a venue asks you for a Euroclass, check with them which classification they accept before you order the fabric.
How do I get the certificate?
We supply a copy of the classification certificate with the material. If you need it earlier, for example for a permit application or a tender, write to info@plastold.com or send a WhatsApp message to +34 670 087 956 stating the fabric and colour, and we will send it to you. For any other fabric, ask us for the documentation when you request your quote.
Is one certificate valid for any fabric?
No. Each AITEX report covers one specific fabric, with its composition, weight and colour; that is why each data sheet gives the number of its own report. Tell us which fabric and colour you are going to use and we will tell you which certificate applies.
