PVC roofs and walls for grandstands and tents at a major motorsport event in Madrid

Between June and July 2026, in our factory in Málaga, we made the white PVC fabric roofs of covered spectator grandstands, plus 288 side walls and 48 gable ends for tents. They were ordered by a tent installation company, which put them up at the circuit of the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix, held in Madrid from 11 to 13 September 2026.

Our part was the fabric, made to measure piece by piece. The installation at the circuit was carried out by the installation company.

What we made

• White PVC fabric roofs for covered spectator grandstands.

• 288 side walls of 4.97 × 3.17 m: more than 4,500 m² of fabric.

• 48 gable ends for 10 m-wide tents.

All parts are in white opaque PVC fabric, with fire class T2 under the European standard UNE-EN 15619.

How it was made

Each side wall is made of two 2.51 × 3.21 m panels welded together, and has:

• a 13 mm keder for the aluminium rail of the structure;

• an eyelet strip, with the first eyelet at 5 cm and the rest every 25 cm;

• a rope strip to close the joint between walls;

• an eyelet with rope at 1.50 m.

The gable ends were cut in two halves with a 5.20 m base, with a 20 mm sleeve and PVC tape reinforcements.

In a run of almost 300 walls, what matters is that every one comes out the same size, so that any wall fits any bay of the tent during installation.

Lead times

The order was accepted in mid-June. The first delivery was made on 8 July and the order was complete in July.
