Side walls and gable ends for 10 m tents: sizes and how to order them

The 10 m wide tent is one of the most used sizes for events, fairs and storage. It is built in 5 m modules, so its side walls and gable ends are almost standard parts; almost, because every manufacturer has its own eave height, profile and way of closing the joints.
This guide explains how the walls and gable ends of a 10 m tent are sized, what finishes they carry, which fabric to choose and how to measure your structure to order them made to measure. At Plastold we make them in PVC, in our factory in Málaga, for structures of any brand.

How a 10 m tent is organised: 5 m modules
A 10 m tent is made of frames with a 10 m span, usually placed every 5 m. The total length is a multiple of the module: 10 × 15 m, 10 × 20 m, 10 × 25 m and so on. Each 5 m space between two frames is a bay, and that defines the parts you need to order:
Side walls: one per bay and per side. A 10 × 25 m tent has 5 bays, so it takes 10 side walls.
End walls: they close both ends below the eave. If the end frame has a central post, each end is closed with two walls of about 5 m, similar to the side walls.
Gable ends: the triangle between the eave and the ridge at each end. The tent has two.
Side walls: bay width and eave height
The wall width follows the clear distance between posts, and the height follows the eave height, from the ground to the rail the wall hooks into. For example, the walls we made for a large installation in Madrid, on 5 m modules, measured 4.97 × 3.17 m; each one was made of two 2.51 × 3.21 m panels welded together, since welding makes the seam watertight.
Those walls had the typical finishes of a side wall:
13 mm keder for the structure's aluminium rail.
Eyelet strip: the first eyelet 5 cm from the edge and then one every 25 cm, to tie the wall with rope.
Rope strip to close the joint between two neighbouring walls, keeping out wind and rain.
The bottom edge is finished according to how the wall is fixed to the base of the structure or to the ground.
Gable ends in two halves
The gable end closes the triangle at each end, between the eave and the ridge. On 10 m tents it is usually made in two halves, one on each side of the central post: they are easier to handle and to fit and, if one is damaged, only that half is replaced.
In the Madrid order, each half had a 5.20 m base, a 20 mm sleeve and PVC tape reinforcements. The exact size depends on each structure, so we work it out from its data.
Opaque, translucent or transparent walls
Walls and gable ends can use the same fabric as the roof or combine several:
Opaque: gives privacy and darkness. It is the usual choice for storage, kitchens, technical areas and events with projections.
Translucent: lets diffused light through and reduces the lighting needed during the day; at night, with the lights on inside, silhouettes can be seen.
Transparent: clear PVC to see outside, widely used for restaurants and winter events. It is more delicate: it must be cleaned and stored carefully to avoid scratches and condensation.

Whatever the finish, walls, gable ends and roof should ideally have the same fire classification. Our OPTEX and COTEX fabrics are classified T2 under the European standard UNE-EN 15619.
A real case: 288 walls and 48 gable ends
For the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix, held in Madrid in September 2026, Plastold made in June and July 288 side walls of 4.97 × 3.17 m, over 4,500 m² of fabric, and 48 gable ends for 10 m wide tents, all in white opaque PVC. Everything was made in our Málaga factory for the tent installation company that set it up at the circuit. How to measure your tent for walls and gable ends
Note the tent width, the frame spacing and the number of bays. If you know the brand and model of the structure, tell us.
Measure the clear distance between posts, face to face, and also centre to centre.
Measure the eave height: from the ground or base plate to the rail where the wall keder goes in.
Check the keder diameter of the rail; if you are not sure how, see what a keder is and how to identify it.
For the gable end, measure the ridge height, the length of the sloping rafter and the position of the central post.
Look at how the walls close to each other and how they are fixed at the bottom, and take overall photos and close-ups of the profiles.

Do they fit any brand of tent?
Yes. We make them to measure for structures of any brand: with the measurements, or with the brand and model, we adapt the keder, dimensions and finishes.
Can I order just a few walls or one gable end?
Yes. You can order a single part to replace a damaged one, or the full set to close the tent.
What is the eyelet strip every 25 cm for?
It lets you tie the wall with rope to the structure or to the next wall while spreading the tension, so the fabric stays taut and does not flap in the wind.
Which fabric weight is best for walls?
We work with 650 and 850 g/m² fabric; the choice depends on the use and on how often the tent is put up and taken down, and we will advise you with the quote. See the fabrics in PVC fabric for tents.
How long does delivery take?
Manufacturing time is confirmed with each quote. Once the goods leave the factory, transport across Europe usually takes about one week.
